A stalker accused a woman he was obsessed with of being with another man after he used fitness app Strava to track her on runs, a court heard.
In the two years he knew Emma Lord, 49, Timothy Mills sent her more than 80 Facebook messages and 20 texts.
The 60-year-old met the mother-of-two at local running club Macclesfield Harriers and over time began professing his love for her and leaving roses and letters at her home.
Mills, from Macclesfield, then stalked Ms Lord on Strava, an app that logs exercise routes and times.
He went on to accuse Ms Lord of having an affair with another runner after seeing on the app that they had completed the same route at the same time.

Afraid of bumping into Mills, Ms Lord gave up running, a hobby she enjoyed three times a week, Warrington Magistrates’ Court heard.
Macclesfield Harriers have suspended Mills’ membership and UK Athletics have suspended his coaching licence, according to The Sun.
Cheshire Police are said to be considering criminal charges against Mills.
The force also applied for an interim three-month stalking protection order, which was granted despite Mills’ claims that he was not a stalker.
He is therefore prohibited from contacting Mrs. Lord and cannot approach her or give her any gifts.
